Teaching listening and reading skills in language classrooms

This workshop will allow participants to take a fresh look at techniques for teaching listening and reading skills in second language classrooms. Participants will try out many of the techniques during the session. The workshop is aimed primarily at secondary teachers of languages such as Te Reo, Mandarin, French, Japanese, Spanish, Samoan and German, but could well be useful also (at least in parts) to Year 1-8 teachers who are delivering language programmes. Ideally, participants will bring a pen and a digital device (at least a phone). Any other equipment needed will be provided. The workshop will be delivered in English and examples will be given in a range of languages, so no one needs to be an expert in any particular language to attend.
