Developing Relational and Extended Abstract thinking in Science

The session will look at my journey towards incorporating SOLO based activities in Junior Science to promote relational and extended abstract thinking. Our assessments in the junior school at Wellington College and in NCEA are SOLO based so I had to ask myself, am I teaching the skills and types of thinking that we expect students to demonstrate?
