A teacher's story about her son's mental illness

This session will focus on my son's battle with mental illness - from both a teacher's and a parent's perspective. As a teacher with oversight of pastoral and guidance at my school, what did I learn from our experience? How do I apply what I learned to my professional context? As a parent, what was it like from the other side? What did I try? What mistakes did I make? What did I learn as a parent? I hope this session encourages more transparency around mental illness and as a group, we leave the session with some shared ideas to apply in both our school and our home lives.
