Cross-curricular course design & implementation: lessons learnt – 2

This session will be an honest discussion of the benefits and challenges of creating & teaching a cross-curricular Y11 course. It will focus on a course developed by two teachers which combined English, history & visual art standards to offer students a year long exploration of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and its significance. The session will look in particular at developing a rich course context, cross-assessing through using single pieces of work as evidence for multiple NCEA standards, and the school structures needed to make cross-curricular courses thrive.
